“Early intervention makes a difference”
Barb’s Place offers a flexible, dynamic, and enriching behaviour intervention experience for children under 6. With access to 5 acres, fun and teaching walk hand-in-hand. We approach every situation with compassion, non-judgment and professionalism.
Through the supervision of a Behaviour Consultant, Barb’s Place behaviour interventionists work one-to-one with each child while given the wonderful opportunity to be in a group setting. As a team we will create and carry out a Behaviour Plan of Intervention (BPI) individualized to your child which will target teaching new skills and enrich skills already learnt. Every program is specific to each child in developing behavioral management, socialization, communication, executive functioning, daily living skills, as well as fine and gross motor skills.
We specialize in positive behaviour support (PBS), natural environment teaching (NET) and applied behaviour analysis (ABA). We are trained in the ABLLS program. Each program is individualized and all goals are observable and measurable. Barb’s Place gives families the opportunity to collaborate on the type of educational experience that best suits each child.
We will liaise with daycare, pre-school and other private service providers as well as help support the transition into school. We can help carry out any ongoing goals from your SLP and OT. We are on your team and will advocate along side you for your child.
We always start with introducing a visual schedule and rapport building (connection before correction) followed by the "We thinkers" curriculum and individualized programing. We build on a balance of routine while teaching flexible thinking.
We are trained in the ABLLS program.
We love going on adventures in our community (to the park, pumpkin patch etc.) as well as supporting parents in feeling confident with their kiddo at home and in the community (bed time routines, grocery shopping, doctors app etc.)
